Police Athletic League (PAL)

The Police Athletic League (PAL) provided support for sports programs for youth throughout the city. PAL officers served as the coordinators between the community and the City Parks & Recreation Department to better enhance youth athletics city-wide.

PAL officers developed and managed new sports programs for Pontiac's youth within the police department, such as PAL Basketball and PAL Baseball/Softball. PAL officers sponsored teams for other sports programs if a sports program didn'r exist, such as sponsoring a PAL football team for the City League.

PAL officers acted as mentors to the City of Pontiac's youth, provided guidance to troubled teens, helped to set realistic goals for youth, and sponsored teen-oriented activities.
