Crime Prevention Officers
The Crime Prevention Officer (CPO) delivered training seminars, public speaking engagements, and crime prevention messages to individuals and groups. The CPO also conducted security surveys of residential and commercial buildings. The CPO ran our Pontiac Police Citizens Academy, which educated citizens on police operations and gave academy graduates an opportunity to assist us preventing crime in their own neighborhoods by participating in Citizen Patrol.
The CPO also ran the Pontiac Police Youth Academy which was modeled after the Citizens Academy and sought to instill citizenship in our youth. Illegal Dumping Alert
