The Uniform Services Division (USD) is responsible for providing the citizens of Pontiac with 24-hour, 7 day-a-week coverage to all calls for service. Responding officers conduct initial investigation as well as respond to non-criminal requests for service. There are many different facets to the Uniform Services Division:

  • Rifle Containment Team
  • Canine Unit
  • Honor Guard
  • Communications Section
  • Special Events

The Division is tasked with the deployment of 24-hour, 7 day-a-week First Responder personnel, conducting crime repression and crime prevention patrols as well as responding to calls for police service. The personnel assigned to USD also conduct initial criminal investigations, respond to non-criminal service requests, and perform traffic violation enforcement.

The organizational structure of the Division includes:

  • Uniformed Road Patrols
  • Special Event Planning
  • Selective Traffic Enforcement Unit
  • Accident Investigator
  • Communications
